A chance to explore the town
You are welcome to just wander around the town, but you will miss a great deal without a guide to show you the history of the town.
The Town Centre Trail booklet shows the layout of the town and its buildings, illustrated with past and present day photographs. There’s also a map of the route with 11 marked stop points.
This beautifully illustrated guide to the many features of Hebden Bridge centre all within an easy walk of ¾ mile (1.2 km) which can be completed in under an hour and is a great souvenir of the town.
Hebden Bridge started off as a small hamlet, which was no more than a river crossing. It grew purchase generic soma into a bustling mill town, becoming the centre of the ready-made fustian clothing trade. A postwar decline saw many buildings demolished. However, thankfully, many have been saved. We hope that our booklet will help you enjoy this beautiful location and architecture that is uniquely Hebden Bridge and learn a little more about its long and fascinating history.
The Town Trail is produced by Hebden Bridge Local History Society and Hebden Bridge Walkers are Welcome.
Available, price £2 from the local visitor centre and local bookshops.
You can also buy it before you come at the Heart of the Pennines on-line shop (there will be a £2 extra towards postage).
